![]() ![]() However the worst part was the atmosphere and the music. Imo it was very disturbing and not enjoyable at all, being filled with gore, pedophilia, body destortion and fetishes. 10/10 recommend for a very pleasant terrible week. if you see Midori Shoujo Tsubaki as the same level as actual child abduction, violence and sexual abuse, maybe go touch some grass. but treating the author as a horrible person and the movie as glorifying child abuse amongst other things just shows that you're very thin skinned and can't think critically. despite that, it represents a very real situation, specially at the time (early 20th century Japan), would you expect a movie that talks about such a serious and disturbing matter to be anything but saddening? there's nothing wrong with disliking Midori Shoujo Tsubaki, in fact i'd say it's understandable. no child was harmed, it does not condone violence and sexual abuse, it's nothing but fiction. it's very easy to file this as "morally aborrent" as i've seen many treat it as, but at the end of the day it's just a piece of fiction. yes, it's disturbing, it's raw, it's unsettling - that is its purpose. after watching it so many times, it remains as one of my favorites. ![]()
